I hate New Years Eve and new years resolutions. There, I said it.
The week before and after the 31st december is the most hypocrite time of a year. Everyone and their mum is talking about "change" and "improvement" to satisfy themselves and to please their weaker self. It's not even about honesty, it's about coming off as a better person, wether you mean it or not.
If you actually wanted to change because of you and your personal believing you wouldn't need a date on a calendar to do so. You wouldn't feel the need to tell everyone about it - you would just get up and do it.
If you actually wanted to do more sports and loose some weight you would do it.
If you wanted to save money you would do it.
If you wanted to travel the world you would find ways to do it.
Let's all just stop with this "new year, new me" bullshit and instead actually get things done. Not for others, not for the sake of a date, but for yourself.
Ich hasse Silvester und Neujahrsvorsätze. Da, ich habe es gesagt.
Die Woche vor und nach dem 31. Dezember ist die heuchlerischste Zeit des Jahres. Jedermann spricht von "Veränderung" und "Verbesserung", um sich selbst zu befriedigen und ihrem inneren Scheinehund zu gefallen. Es geht nicht einmal um Ehrlichkeit, es geht darum, als "bessere Person" zu erscheinen, ob man es nun ernst meint oder nicht.
Wenn man sich tatsächlich ändern wollte, für sich selbst und weil man persönlich daran glaubt, bräuchte man kein Kalenderdatum um das durchzusetzen. Man müsste nicht jede Sekunde allen davon erzählen was man alles vor hat, man würde es einfach tun.
Wenn man tatsächlich mehr Sport machen und etwas abnehmen will, würde man es tun.
Wenn man Geld sparen will, würde man es tun.
Wenn man die Welt bereisen will, würden man Wege finden, es zu tun.
Lasst uns alle mit diesem "Neues Jahr, neues Ich" Blödsinn aufhören und stattdessen tatsächlich Dinge erledigen. Nicht für andere, nicht für ein Datum, sondern für sich selbst.
About the outfit:
One of the best investments I have ever done has been this black dress by Topshop, which I even got secondhand. I can't count how many times I have thrown this on and called it an outfit. The A-cut makes it extremely flattering on me and it's also the perfect length for working in an office.
But because it is winter and I'm easily stating to freeze I paired it with a pink oversize jumper, which I snatched on sale. I can't even think about how many amazing things I got off the sale. So here's a tip when shopping on a small budget: be open for the sales section. Go in there with an open mind and look through everything. You might be surprised with the amazing deals and styles you can mind.
And do I even have to begin again with the shoes and bag? Old times favourites of mine that have seen the surface of this blog more often than anything else.
Über das Outfit:
Eine der besten Investitionen, die ich jemals getätigt habe, war dieses schwarze Kleid von Topshop, das ich sogar Secondhand bekam. Ich kann selbst nicht mal mehr aufzählen wie oft ich dieses Kleid übergeworfen habe und es einen Look nannte habe. Die A-Linie des Kleides macht es extrem schmeichelhaft für meine Figur und es hat die perfekte Länge, wenn man im Büro arbeitet.
Aber weil es nunmal Winter ist und ich schnell anfange zu frieren, habe ich es mit einem pinkfarbenen Oversize-Pullover kombiniert, den ich im Sale ergattert habe. Ich weiß gar nicht, wie viele tolle Dinge ich aus dem Verkauf bekommen habe. Also, hier ist ein Tipp, wenn man mit einem kleinen Budget einkaufen: Seid offen für den Sale. Geht mit offenen Augen in die Kleiderstangen und ihr werdet überrascht von den vielen tollen Angeboten und Styles die ihr finden werdet.
Und muss ich noch einmal mit den Schuhen und der Tasche anfangen? Das sind eingesessene Lieblinge von mir, die die Oberfläche dieses Blogs häufiger als alles andere gesehen haben.
